I have owned this car for some 46 years and it was subject to a full ground up restoration by Peter Ratcliffe’s SVW Ltd ,14 years ago.
Since the restoration I have completed under 2800 miles and these mostly for the weddings of family and close friends.
I have carried out most minor maintenance myself and consider the car to be in excellent condition throughout.
It is stored in a garage within an Airchamber.

I have for sale a 1940 MG VA saloon, registration number SY7088 on a V5.
The chassis number is VA2650 and engine number TPBG2910 which is it’s original engine.
I am informed by Gary Perry that this is the latest known car to the register (the final car being VA2657).
SY7088 is a grey saloon registered on 19-7-40, it may have been used for Government work given its battleship grey colour.
This will make a great car but I have too many other MG projects.
If not sold I will consider breaking the car for spares.

I am looking for a good, usable MG VA saloon or Tickford coupe. The car must be currently roadworthy, but I do not mind if some work is needed, provided that it is reflected in the price.

I have for sale my MG VA Saloon that I have owned for over 25 years.
It is in original condition, only missing two emblems (bumper rear and spare wheel emblems). Comes with new tacho reduction gear.

This MG VA was originally exported to Canada directly from the factory in 1938 and spent the next 65 years in North America, gradually progressing down the Eastern Seaboard to Florida, from which she was purchased and re-imported to South Wales by the previous owner in 2003, intended to be used as part of his classic wedding car fleet. Following a change of his plans, I bought her from this gentleman later that year.
The VA has been in my ownership now for 15 enjoyable years. When it arrived, it clearly needed full restoration, which I managed over the next few years. She is finished in attractive dark blue with professionally-trimmed blue leather interior and correct full weather equipment in “as new” condition. All the instruments work correctly in the lovely dashboard and the chrome is in good condition.
Receipts for thousands of pounds of work and parts during and after the restoration; this car has been garaged and fully maintained during my ownership. A lovely open 4-seater car which exudes elegance and character, eligible for VSCC and pre-war events and rallies.
The car runs extremely well and is very reliable with a strong engine, gearbox and drive train. The fitment of hardened valve seats allow her to run happily on modern unleaded fuel and she has good oil pressure.

1936 MG SA Tickford for sale. Ground up restoration completed 6 years ago. Jaguar dark blue/County cream exterior, dark blue leather interior and mohair hood. The car is currently fitted with County cream Ace wheel discs which are easily removed.
The car currently is running with an MGC 3 litre engine and gearbox which allows the car to travel stress free and easily at 70mph.
The MGC engine and SA engine are both 6 cylinder and virtually the same dimensions and interchangeable. The car comes complete with fully reconditioned original engine and gearbox, numbers matching. The SA ash frame was made by Ashframes International in the UK. The body was panelled in steel with aluminium doors and boot in NZ. Interior leatherwork and hood, painting and assembly all carried out in NZ.

This is a MG VA Saloon, first registered in April 1939, and has been in our family for about 45 years.
Originally black (according to the log book) it is now Red/Black, although, as can be seen in the photos, the red is peeling.
The car is in good original condition and is all there, although it hasn't moved under it's own steam for quite some years. There are 79238 miles showing on the odometer.
The engine turns over very freely with the starting handle so is not seized and we have rolled the car out of the garage so the brakes aren't seized.

The car will require some restoration but is all complete and original apart from the paintwork. An old Logbook is available and a V5 Registration Document has been applied for.

This car is the property of the late president of the SVW Register, David Washbourne. It was involved in an accident in 2012 and was badly damaged. David had arranged for the car to be repaired and restored, and this work had been partially completed when he died in October 2013. Registration - FLJ 518 Chassis No - VA 2401 S Engine No - TPBG 2631 The car was last on the road in 1965. It was first registered on 24/02/1940 and was originally painted grey with red trim. The car has recently been discovered in Honiton, Devon in a dismantled state. It has been loosely reassembled and is virtually complete apart from brake shoes and drums. The car has a V5 and now requires full restoration. It will be sold by auction at Castle Combe, Wiltshire on Saturday 19th October and carries an estimate of £8500-£9500.

Due to lack of time & space I've decided to sell the car, Unfortunately when my mother passed away the paperwork went missing so I only have a new V5. I Know that the engine was totally rebuilt & if memory is correct also the clutch & gearbox, the carb's were sent away to a specialist, my father had started sorting the brake seals and hoses but not completed that. First registered in October 1937 to a Murray Chandler in Krugersdorp SA. It was taken off the road in the mid 1950s when the head gasket failed. It thereafter had little or no use until Mr Chandler died in 1990. The next owner was Roger Pearce, who set about a total "nut and bolt" rebuild. After nearly completing the car he sold it to a Ted Young, who finished the restoration. The car was completed in the mid 1990s and has enjoyed limited use, and careful ownership ever since. The car is in superb condition throughout. It is suggested that only around 147 of these beautiful tourer exist worldwide. Now with UK registration and waiting for a new life.
